Are by-products used in your products?
No, we do not use by-products in our products.

Are meats artificially coloured?
No, we do not add artificial colour to our meats.

How do you make some meats fat free?
Schneiders’ Fat Free products are made with very lean meats, carefully trimmed to remove all visible fat. In most cases, we prefer to use very lean chicken and pork to make our fat free products. We do not use cereals to make our products fat free.

Can you explain the nutrition information?
The Nutrition Facts panel shows the actual amount of a nutrient, and the percentage that one serving would provide as part of Health Canada's recommended daily amounts. All prepared foods in Canada are required to have a nutrition information panel on the package.

Are vitamins added to meat?
Meat products cannot be vitamin or mineral fortified. Any vitamins or minerals declared on meat products occur naturally as a result of the meat itself or the other non-meat ingredients that can be added to products through regulatory standards.

What kind of protein is in meat?
Meat is a good source of complete protein, which means it contains all the amino acids we need and in the portions necessary for good health.

Why does our body need protein?
Just to survive, we need daily consumption of proteins, as the body cannot store them. Protein helps to regulate the body's metabolism, digestion, how well it absorbs nutrients, and the concentration of our blood sugars. It repairs and maintains muscles.

Why do I need iron?
Iron is necessary for our blood quality, and increases our resistance to disease, as well as increasing our energy.

What does zinc do for me?
Benefits of zinc include helping to maintain healthy cell function, building new immune system cells that help fight viral infections and helping to heal cuts and wounds.

I am not familiar with thiamine, what does it do?
Thiamine helps the body release the energy from carbohydrates, and is needed for normal nervous system function.

Why is niacin important?
Niacin helps in reducing cholesterol levels. It also offers protection from toxins and pollutants and maintains normal skin, nerves and digestive system function.

Why is vitamin B12 important?
Our bodies break down vitamin B12 and store it for when it is needed. This vitamin promotes normal growth and improves the body's immune system. It also improves memory and increases energy.
